Thanks to all who generously brought toys and blankets for kids at the Wind River Reservation. In spite of challenging economic times, Jackson families brought a wealth of gifts!!!
Also: Kids - Please interview at least 2 family members over break for the Family Tree product. If you didn't get interview forms - Ask about where they were born, where their parents and grandparents were from, and about any interesting family stories they'd like to share:)
Enjoy the Holiday!!!!!

Week of December 15th
Announcements:
This is the final week for the annual Wind River Indian Reservation Toy and Blanket Drive. Whew! That's a long title. This is a great cause - Indian Reservations are statistically the poorest places in the Nation. Please bring in new or used toys/blankets before Friday. There are labeled boxes at the front of the school.
Many students are missing school this week. Our curriculum is still moving along, and we are entering the Constitution Unit, which concludes with a district standard assessment. Please ask a few days in advance for make-up work!
Monday:
The Preamble Scramble: Students identify the reasons the framers drafted the Constitution by rewriting the Preamble in their own words.
Constitution Notes: Building on our info from Friday, students examine Articles I-III of the Constitution, taking notes using an organizer. Information includes terms of office and qualifications for the offices.
HW: Finish notes started in class
Tuesday:
HW check and review: Discussion centers on the creation and passage of laws/bills.
Begin: Bill of Rights Foldable Project
Smartboard Constitution Jeopardy Activity
Wednesday:
Special Guest: Police Officer Tony, Q and A on the 4th and 5th amendments. Students identify and apply the "rights of persons accused of a crime."
Thursday:
Finish Bill of Rights foldables booklets.
Amendment Charades: Students act out provided scenarios and their peers guess which amendment applies to their mini-skits.
Friday: We are with Mr. Yazzolino's Classes today!!
Happy Holidays!
